I walked up round the Donich Circular this morning and took some video footage of the waterfalls for comparison with after the hydro has been constructed. The flow on the river was very low for Feb as it has been very dry recently, so the falls are not spectacular although they do look very pretty.
The subject of the Hydro came up several times at the Trust AGM. Firstly there were some discussions around financials and how much income the community would receive from this. The figure of £50,000 was mentioned but everything was very vague with no specifics on exactly how the loan would work etc. I then asked […]
I found out that there have been surveyors from the developer out looking at the tailrace area. There has also been planning permission entered for a new electricity pole in the area. http://eplanning.lochlomond-trossachs.org/OnlinePlanning/applicationDetails.do?activeTab=documents&keyVal=NHWPBISI09M00 So maybe things are starting to happen now there are the first signs of spring.

The National Park planning web site will be updated with any further activity, and there will be a notification generated […]
I contacted the Park Planning Officer (Erin Goldie) who was responsible for the case to find out what the next steps are. This was her response. I can confirm that I am still the contact with regard to the Donich Water hydro scheme. A series of planning conditions must be discharged (by the Planning Authority) […]
Many of the documents from the original planning application at http://eplanning.lochlomond-trossachs.org/OnlinePlanning/applicationDetails.do?activeTab=documents&keyVal=MNJWTGSI0AA00 have now been removed. We downloaded them some time ago and are posting them here so they can be referred to as necessary.

Energy: Peter Clark informed the directors that, he and Elizabeth had received more comprehensive information, facts and figures from the Trust’s legal advisors, financial advisors and the Scottish […]
