The pipe has now been inserted underground into position ready to plug into the tailrace and covered over with some of the stones that had been dug out for the trench. Presumably this was what was making the very loud noise which was echoing over the valley all yesterday afternoon. I walked up to the waterfalls and met two rather bemused tourists who looked as though they had been heading out for a picnic at a beauty spot and were surprised to have found a building site there instead.
Tomorrow evening is the meeting of the Loch Goil Community Trust where (presumably) the announcement will be made about how much money will come to the community from the Hydro scheme. It is to be hoped that the sum will meet with some of the figures mentioned last year as there is obviously no going back now.
