Road re-graded

Work has been carrying on today on the access road between the ‘main’ road to the village and Inveronich. I checked this evening and they have re-graded the road down its entire length (the part they are actually doing that is) but not tarmac’d it yet. I was barely able to hear any construction noise […]

Construction has started

Our neighbours and ourselves have now received a couple of informative emails from both Broadlands and Hydroplan telling us that work on the access road is definitely starting this week. We’ve been told that as residents, the road will not be closed to us, although it will be to members of the public (who frankly […]

And now it is about to start

Our neighbours at Inveronich were informed today by Hydroplan that work is about to start shortly on a) the access road b) tree felling around the powerhouse area and pipeline route c) surveying work for power cables. I’m a bit surprised that after a year’s delay this is happening so quickly. We had been informed […]

Putting this one to rest

We were finally informed that the Trust have written to the developer with our questions about the finance. We also received an apology that our questions had not been answered earlier. I don’t see much point in pursuing this issue further as I don’t think we are going to get satisfactory answers and it is […]

Response from Trust received

The Internet is a wonderful thing… Following my post yesterday I have today received the interim response from the Trust which was mentioned in the minutes from 1st July. Contents of the response are that Pete Clark has been asked to provide a ‘full and accurate report to date’ on the Donich Hydro. I’ll publish […]

Sort of response from the Community Trust

Well we got what I can only describe as a ‘sort of response’ to our letter to the Trust. To refresh memories, the original letter was sent on 9th June 2015. It had to be sent as a physical letter because previous emails had been ignored, and we were informed that only physical letters would […]

Planning Update

We’ve resumed our walks around the Donich circular now that the midgies have abated and there is no sign of any further construction activity. We have also been in touch with Erin Goldie from Argyll and Bute planning. From their perspective, the next thing that will happen is that a ‘Notice of Initiation’ will have […]

Community Council Update

Our hopes for getting some kind of detailed response on the letter that was sent to the Trust was not forthcoming at the Community Council meeting. After specifically being asked about it, we were informed that no further information from Broadlands had been forthcoming. Apparently this is still being chased but I am not personally […]

Response received from Loch Goil Trust

We received a written (snail mail) response to our written letter to the Trust. This is obviously the mistake I made in the past in presuming that in 2015 we would be ok with email. Anyway, now the 1800s have called and got their technology back the response was that the questions we asked would […]

Markers seen on Donich Circular

Looks as though there may be some action happening…. Marker posts have been seen on the Donich circular walk. This could be part of the work which we were told would be occurring later this year towards the top of the Hydro (not affecting Inveronich).
